Celebrate Halloween Early in Atlantic City
Halloween doesn’t arrive until next Wednesday, but in Atlantic City the parties and top entertainers are slated for this weekend.
Even if you do most of your casino play online, with so much happening in Atlantic City this weekend, how could you not be tempted to experience some of it for yourself? From the Boardwalk to the Marina, whichever of the nine Atlantic City casinos you choose, your pre-Halloween night out on the town will be spooktacular!
Here is a brief summary, in alphabetical order, what each Atlantic City casino is doing to celebrate Halloween both this weekend and on Halloween itself.
Bally’s and Caesars
Fourth Annual Adult Trick or Treat
For the 4th year in a row, Bally’s and Caesars in Atlantic City are sponsoring their own unique version of a Trick or Treat Halloween Party for Adults. The extravaganza will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at multiple locations on both properties.
The cost of admission is $49.99 per person plus taxes and fees, for a total of $56, a portion of which will go to the American Cancer Society. Discounted two or four ticket packages are also available.
Your ticket entitles you to select appetizers and adult drinks at participating restaurants and bars at Bally’s, Bally’s Wild Wild West, and Caesars. Individuals who are visibly intoxicated will not be served. Costumes are encouraged (but masks cannot completely cover the face). Over $2,000 in prizes will be given away.
In addition, ticket holders can take advantage of a 15% discount on any Caesars owned restaurants at Caesars and Bally’s both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased either onsite or in advance online.
Premier is kicking off Halloween weekend with “Freaky Friday,” starting 11 p.m. October 26. Laidback Luke is the DJ.
Then, on Saturday, October 27, Benny Benassi takes center stage. But so may you because there’s also a sexiest costume contest. One lucky person (picked by the audience) will be crowned the winner and will receive $10,000 cash. The second and third place prizes aren’t too shabby either. The second place prize is a two night stay in a suite at the Borgata, $300 dining credit, and table service and a complimentary bottle at Premier for the winner and three guests. The third place prize includes the same offer at the Premier, without the hotel stay and dining credit.
Premier is dark on Sunday, but on Monday, October 29, Party Favor will provide the entertainment and there will be another costume contest. This time the top prize is $5,000 cash. The second and third place prizes are the same as the respective prizes on Saturday.
General admission is $30 on Friday, $50 on Saturday, and $20 on Monday. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.
Ghost Town Halloween Party at the Gypsy Bar
On Saturday, October 27, the Gypsy Bar will be transformed into a haunted saloon of the old west, filled with tumbleweed, vultures, and other scary décor. Sip your favorite cocktail while being entertained by Audio Riot (starting 7 p.m.) or Flip Like Wilson (starting 11 p.m.).
Be sure to wear your best costume, too, and arrive before 10 p.m., as the costume contest winner will be announced before midnight. The first place winner will get $1,000 cash, while the second place prize is a $250 bar tab in a reserved area.
Another place to party the night away is Haven Nightclub. Here’s the entertainment lineup for Halloween weekend.
- Fri., Oct. 26: 4 B
- Sat., Oct. 27: Apocalypse
Doors open 11 p.m. Friday and 10 p.m. Saturday, with the club staying open till 4 a.m. both nights. General admission costs $25 (plus a $2.47 fee) Friday but is free Saturday.
Pool After Dark
Weekend after weekend Aqua Fridays and Epic Saturdays turn the Pool After Dark at Harrah’s into party central, so of course, the weekend before Halloween will be more of the same. Nick Cannon as Friday’s featured performer will be hard to top, but on Saturday, Oct. 27, you’re in for another treat. It’s the Epic Saturday Halloween Bash. hosted by Bella Thorne, featuring a live performance by the Ying Yang Twins. Costumes are encouraged.
But wait, the weekend festivities are just a warm-up for what’s in store at the Pool After Dark on Halloween itself.
Wet & Wild Wednesday Halloween Bash
If you’re a traditionalist and prefer to celebrate Halloween on the day itself, head to Harrah’s Pool After Dark. Jonas Blue will be on hand as the live DJ, but that’s not all. There will also be a costume contest with over $1,000 in prizes, including a chance to earn tickets to the 2018 Q102 Jingle Ball.
Tickets for upcoming Pool at the Dark events can be purchased online. General Admission is only $10 (plus a $2 fee). Although doors open at 10 p.m., that’s when the party’s just getting started. It doesn’t end till 4 a.m.
Daer Nightclub is featuring top entertainers all weekend long. Doors open at 10 p.m. The lineup for this weekend is as follows:
- Fri., Oct. 26: Alok
- Sat., Oct. 27: Alesso
- Mon., Oct. 28: Fetty Wap
The Saturday event also includes a sexiest costume contest with $10,000 in cash and other prizes.
General admission is $65 on Friday, $125 on Saturday, and $25 on Sunday.
As if all that’s not enough, on Wed., Oct. 31, the featured entertainer will be Carnage and there will be another contest for best costume, where an additional $10,000 in cash and prizes will be given away. Tickets for the Halloween bash are $25.
Tickets for all events at Daer Nightclub can be purchased online.
Hard Rock Café
Another fun place to be Halloween night is the Hard Rock Café. The party there winds down relatively early, so you could conceivably stop by Hard Rock Café first and then go to Daer Nightclub or the Pool After Dark afterwards.
At the Hard Rock Café the fun starts at 10 p.m. and continues till midnight. A DJ will be on hand to play spooky Halloween music, and there’s a costume contest, too, where a $100 Hard Rock gift card will be given away.
Ocean Resort Casino
Back to back top entertainers–G Easy on Fri., Oct. 26 and Afrojack on Sat., Oct. 27– are the pre-Halloween treat at this venue. On Friday, doors open at 11 p.m. and tickets are $40. On Saturday, doors open at 10 p.m. and tickets are $30.
Margaritaville and Landshark Halloween Party
On Friday, Oct. 26, Margaritaville and Landshark are jointly hosting a Halloween party under both roofs. It’s an early party in every sense. Not only is it being held five days before Halloween, but the time is early, too–7 p.m. to midnight. Drink specials, DJs, and prizes for the best costumes should all contribute to a fun night out.
I might have saved the best for last. Every year the Trop goes all out with its over the top celebration of Halloween, and this year is no different. No other Atlantic City casino offers more Halloween parties and more costume contests. And as if that’s not enough, two scary movies are playing at the IMAX Theater: The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday and Halloween: the IMAX Experience all week long.
But because this year Halloween falls mid-week, the Tropicana decided to hold most of the festivities on the preceding Saturday. In fact, there is so much going on at the Trop this Saturday, I wrote a whole article devoted exclusively to those events for NJ Gambling Websites. You can read the article here.
I used to think, and many people still do, that Halloween is strictly a holiday for children. But judging by the many celebrations for adults taking place in Atlantic City, clearly this is not the case. Choosing which casino to go to for your own pre-Halloween or Halloween celebration won’t be easy, but one thing is for sure. Wherever you wind up, you will have a howling good time.
