Golden Nugget $15,000 Tax Time Giveaway

Easter and Passover are only a week away, but first, you have to get through this weekend, which for many of you, means tax paying time. Luckily for you, even if a tax refund from the IRS is not in the cards, Tax Refund Weekend at Golden Nugget is perfectly timed to boost your online account with bonus dollars and turn your frown into a smile.

It’s time for another $15,000 Golden Nugget Giveaway. You have all weekend long (Fri.-Sun.) to earn as many entries as you can playing your favorite Golden Nugget Online Casino games.

It’s as simple as that, and you could be one of 1,000 lucky players to be randomly picked to win bonus dollars. The prizes vary, but one super lucky player will win the $2,500 bonus grand prize.

How to participate in the Golden Nugget Tax Refund Weekend Giveaway promotion

This special promotion runs from Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14 and is open to all registered players. Here’s what you need to do to participate:

  • Log into your account anytime during the 4/12-4/14 promotion period, but the sooner the better.
  • Claim the offer from Available Bonuses.
  • Start playing!

Every $100 that you wager during the promotion will earn you one entry into Monday’s prize drawing. Note, however, that “weighted wagering” applies, and sports bets do not count at all.

No deposit is required to participate, and making one will not increase the number of entries you get. However, if your account balance is low, making a deposit might be a good idea to make sure you are adequately funded for your intended play this weekend.

What you can win

All winners will be contacted by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, and their prizes will be credited to their account by then as well.

All prizes will be in the form of bonus dollars credited to your account. The following chart shows how the 1,000 bonus money prizes will be distributed.

Place Prize
1st Place $2,500 Bonus
2nd to 3rd $500 Bonus
4th to 10th $100 Bonus
11th to 25th $40 Bonus
26th to 70th $20 Bonus
71st to 1,000th $10 Bonus

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of the prizes are for only $10. Only 10 of the 1,000 winners will receive a prize of $100 bonus dollars or more.

Wagering requirements for the bonus

Any bonus money you may receive from the Golden Nugget Tax Refund Weekend Giveaway works like any other bonus dollars awarded to you in the course of your play. Before you will be permitted to withdraw either the bonus or any additional winnings therefrom, you will need to meet the casino’s specified wagering requirements. However, in this case, they are minimal, so even if you snag one of the bigger prizes, clearing the bonus shouldn’t be difficult. Depending on your game choice, this is what you will need to wager:

  • Most slots: 1x bonus
  • Video poker, roulette, blackjack, or other table games: 4x bonus
  • Excluded* slots: 5x bonus

Wagers on sports don’t count.

*Golden Nugget Online Casino is home to no less than 550 slots, and all but 21 of them count 100% towards clearing your bonus. Since you only have to wager the bonus money once, clearing the bonus should be a piece of cake.

That is as long as you avoid the remaining 21 “excluded” slots that only count 20% towards clearing your bonus. Golden Nugget presumably singled out these games because of their very high theoretical return to player. But compared to the hundreds of other slots that count 100%, the difference is not great enough to justify having to do 5x as much wagering. The excluded slots contribute even less than video poker and table games.

You will find the complete list of all of the excluded slots on the casino’s website. My suggestion is to avoid them for now, wait until you don’t have a bonus to clear, and meanwhile clear this bonus with high returning slots that count 100%. To help you locate these slots easily, check the “i” tab that shows the slot’s return to player (RTP) before you start playing.

Other important terms and conditions

Golden Nugget Online Casino is giving you up to seven days to complete the necessary wagering. While this wagering is still in progress, both the bonus and any bonus related winnings will remain temporarily locked into your account. You will be able to withdraw whatever is left of this money as soon as you complete the necessary wagering, provided you do so within the allowable time frame. However, if you have other available funds in your account not related to the bonus, you can withdraw those at any time.

Keep in mind that opting out, attempting to withdraw unavailable funds prematurely, or failure to complete the required wagering on time will result in forfeiture of both your bonus and any resulting winnings.

Golden Nugget Tax Refund Weekend Giveaway Pros and Cons

Don’t get your hopes up for winning more than a small prize

Golden Nugget seems to be offering a lot of giveaways lately with 1,000 prizes up for grabs. The last one was the Crack the Vault giveaway in March. That time the “vault” was a little fuller, holding $20,000 rather than $15,000 in bonus dollars, and the top prize was for a whopping $5,000.

Regardless, the distribution of prizes in all of the giveaways is such that yes, you have an excellent chance of winning something. However, the preponderance of tiny ($10) prizes also means that you have only a remote chance to win a larger prize.

On the other hand, a small bonus is better than no bonus. Besides, this is tax weekend, so if you can come out ahead even by a little bit, that’s a good thing.

No limit on the number of entries per person

Another problem with this promotion and, in fact, with all of the Golden Nugget Online Casino drawings is that the casino doesn’t place any limit on the number of entries per person. This gives big bettors an enormous advantage. They can bet thousands of dollars per day like it’s small potatoes, simply to rack up as many entries as possible. That leaves everybody else with the odds stacked against them.

However, under no circumstances should you increase your wagers to more than you can comfortably afford just to earn additional entries. With 1,000 prizes to go around, even if you can only muster up a few entries, you still have a chance.

Maybe the luck of the draw will work its magic. It’s entirely possible that some players with a lot of entries will only win a $10 bonus–or no bonus. it is also entirely possible that one of the top prizes will go to a player with only a few entries.

Golden Nugget Giveaway great features

Based on what I have written so far, it may seem that this Golden Nugget Giveaway, as good as it sounds on paper, is probably a waste of time. However, that is not the case. This promotion happens to have several great things going for it.

  • 1,000 ways to win

Other than drawings like this on, when was the last time you entered a random prize drawing with 1,000 winners? Maybe never.  With that many prizes up for grabs, even with only a few entries, you have a shot.

  • No deposit required and no-risk bonus

As long as you have enough money in your account to wager as you usually do this weekend, you can get by without making a deposit.

Then, come Monday, if you win a bonus dollars prize, you still won’t need to make a deposit. In fact, if you clear your bonus with any of the the 529 slots that count 100%, you only have to bet the bonus once. So you’re betting with the casino’s money, not your own, which means that losing any of your own money betting the bonus is impossible.

  • Plenty of time to clear the bonus

Since you only need to bet the bonus once for most slots (or 4x or 5x for other games), you probably won’t even need a full week to clear it. However, it’s nice that the casino gives you that option, especially if you win a big bonus.

The bottom line

Last, but not least, even if you don’t win much from this Golden Nugget giveaway, being that it’s tax time, psychologically, you would have to feel good about the prospect of any extra money in your account.

So opt into the Golden Nugget Tax Refund Weekend Giveaway today. One of this casino’s next 1,000 winners could be you!
