Golden Pirate Weekend and Beer Fest

If you’re a Golden Nugget player, better get ready for a whirlwind weekend. Between the Golden Pirate Weekend celebration online and the craft beer festival at the Atlantic City property, you are going to have your hands full!

Golden Nugget Happy Hour

First, here’s quick reminder about Happy Hour at the Golden Nugget. On Tuesday, September 12, for that one day only, Golden Nugget Online Casino had a special “Happy Hour” promotion offering an opportunity to win $250 bonus dollars. Since only four prizes were being awarded, I looked to see if the casino had something else to offer to offset the disappointment of all the non-winners, and I found it. However, in this case, the Happy Hours are not taking place online, but offline at Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

Best of all, the Golden Nugget Atlantic City Happy Hours, serving up incredibly priced food and drink specials at the casino’s top restaurants, don’t expire. So even though Tuesday’s online Happy Hour promotion is over, be sure to check my 9/12/17 blog on this website, if you haven’t already, so you will know all about the other Happy Hours that are still ongoing at Golden Nugget Atlantic City. Then, every time you visit, you can keep taking advantage of them.

And the Party is Just Getting Started!

Happy Hour may have to wait, though because this weekend there will be plenty of other partying for Golden Nugget casino players, both online and off. All weekend long, starting today and continuing through Sunday, September 17, it is Golden Pirate Weekend. This time, instead of just four players walking away with a prize, 251 lucky players will share a $10,000 bounty!

Understandably, it will be hard to tear yourself away from all that fun and excitement. But tomorrow, you should try because that’s when you want to be heading over to the Golden Nugget Atlantic City for the 7th Annual Craft Beer Festival!

 Golden Pirate Weekend $10,000 Giveaway

As a NJ online casino player, in addition to all the deposit matches and other routine bonuses, every so often you get an extra chance to boost your account big time. That is when your favorite casino leaves the humdrum offers and better looking on paper than they are in reality bonuses for another day and holds a grand scale giveaway. During the multi-day promotional period, you earn as many entries as you can into the drawing, and when the big day comes, you really do have a fair chance because there are lot of winners.

Golden Pirate Weekend $10,000 Giveaway is that kind of promotion.  Prizes range from $10 all the way up to a whopping $1,500 in bonus money, to be distributed among no less than 251 lucky players.

How to Participate in the Golden Pirate Weekend Giveaway Promotion

In order to participate in this exciting promotion and have your name included in the drawing, here are the steps you need to follow.

  • Log into your account anytime during the 9/15-9/17 weekend.
  • Go to “Available Bonuses” and claim the Golden Pirate Weekend
  • Deposit $20 or any multiple of $20 and wager it 1x.

If you can afford to make a larger deposit, you should do so because for every additional $20 you not only deposit but wager 1x (on any game), you earn an additional entry into the drawing. In other words, if you deposit and wager a total of $100, you will earn five entries.

There is no stipulation that you can only make one deposit, so multiple deposits should count, but check with Customer Support to make sure if that’s what you have in mind. Obviously, all deposits should be in multiples of $20 and don’t deposit any money you’re not also prepared to wager. For example, if you deposit $100, but only wager $90 of it, you will only receive four entries, not the five you would get if the entire $100 is wagered.

Also, if you want to keep playing after you have wagered the deposited money once, that’s fine, but make another deposit first (if multiple deposits count), so you can earn an additional entry.

On Monday, September 18, a random drawing will take place to determine the winners.

Distribution of Prizes

The following matrix shows the distribution of prizes. As you can see, all of the prizes are in the form of bonus dollars added to your account. There are six possible bonuses you can win: $1,500, $500, $200, $100, $50, or $10. Only 21 players will be lucky enough to snag a prize of $100 or more. All of the other winning players will receive either a respectable $50 bonus or a token $10 bonus

Place Prize
1st Place $1,500 bonus
2nd to 4th $500 bonus
5th to 12th $200 bonus
13th to 21st $100 bonus
22nd to 76th $50 bonus
77th to 251st $10 bonus

Additional Wagering Requirements for Prize Winners

All winners of this promotion will be notified by 5 p.m. Monday, September 18. They will then have up to 7 days to meet the following additional wagering requirements:

            Slots: 1x bonus

            All Other Games: 5x bonus

It should be noted that when making the wagers to clear the bonus, the player’s own deposited funds are used first and then the bonus money afterwards.

Furthermore, during the time that the wagering is still in progress, both the bonus and any related winnings remain locked into the player’s account and are unavailable for withdrawal. Be sure you know where you stand before you request a withdrawal since a premature withdrawal will cancel both the still existing bonus balance and any winnings. However, as soon as all of the wagering is completed, whatever remains of the bonus along with any winnings are yours!

Is the Pirate Weekend Promotion a Good Offer?

Lots of Winners, but No Cap on Entries

Like most online casino promotions, this one has some great features and some that are not so great. One of the best features of this offer is that because of the huge number of prizes, you have a much better chance of winning than in most drawings. However, the absence of any cap at all on the number of entries per person opens the door for high rollers to amass a huge number of entries, thereby cutting down on other players’ chances.

My advice to smaller players is deposit more than $20 if you can afford it, but don’t go overboard. You also have to wager your deposit, which means you could lose it. You only have to wager it once, but even so, the amount you deposit should not greatly exceed what would be a normal deposit for your bankroll and bet size. Remember that this is still a random drawing so anything can happen. If you’re lucky, you won’t need a lot of entries for your name to be picked.

In fact I would question the advisability of a huge deposit for any player, given the fact that the preponderance of bonuses are only $10. If you deposit and wager $100 and subsequently receive a $10 bonus, that’s a 10% return, which isn’t great but isn’t terrible. But how would you feel if you deposited and wagered $1,000 or more and all you got was a $10 bonus? Unless you are a high roller and normally deposit and wager large sums of money online, I don’t recommend deviating from your usual style of play just to rack up extra entries in this promotion.

Reasonable Wagering Requirements Keep the Promotion Affordable

I would like this promotion more if it not only had a reasonable cap on the number of entries, but didn’t require wagering of the deposit prior to the drawing. However, the wagering requirements of 1x the deposit and 1x the bonus for slots or 5x the bonus for other games are very reasonable. The fact that you have to wager the deposit and not just let it sit in your account while you wait for the drawing is actually a good thing in one respect because it will lessen the likelihood of players depositing more than they can afford. Thereafter, even small players should not have any trouble satisfying the wagering requirements for the bonus over the seven day period that the casino is allowing.

Win or Lose, Golden Pirate Weekend is a Fun Promotion for Any Player

Even if Pirate Weekend proves less than “golden” and you don’t get to share in the bounty, earning entries playing your favorite games should be fun and you don’t have to spend a lot of money. However, you could be one of the lucky ones and not only win in the course of your play this weekend, but win big in the drawing, and win again wagering the bonus!

Golden Nugget Beer Festival

At some point, you will need a break from your online play, and Saturday, September 16 might be the perfect time. You can play on any day, but tomorrow will be your only opportunity of the year to attend the Golden Nugget Craft Beer Festival in Atlantic City. The event will take place in the Grand Theater from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased either online using the link provided here, or at the Golden Nugget Box Office.

Prices are as follows:

General Admission: $59

VIP Admission with 7 p.m. entry: $69

Or, if you’re a teacher, police officer, or firefighter, show your credentials at the box office and get a reduced price ticket for only $45!

What Your Ticket Includes

If you’re a beer lover, this event is calling your name! There probably won’t be 99 bottles of beer on the wall, but there definitely will be more than 99 varieties of  seasonal craft beers from over 30 different breweries!  This year, for the first time, there will also be a special international section with beers from Germany, Belgium, and England.

In addition, along with the beer, there will be chef-inspired appetizers to insure that all revelers are well fed. There will be live entertainment as well.

Bonus: All ticket holders will also receive a souvenir glass and over $75 worth of offers from the Golden Nugget!

If you attend this fun event, be sure to drink sensibly.

Beef & Sushi Pairing at Lillie’s Asian Cuisine: September 15-17

If the Beer Fest sounds like too much for you, a good alternative, for a fraction of the price, is the Beer & Sushi Pairing at Lillie’s Asian Cuisine. There you can sample a much more reasonable 5 sushi rolls and 5 craft beers for only $26.
